Hi,
I have an old 2960g 8 port switch - WS-C2960G-8TC-L. Today I was trying to set up SSH access and found that the firmware doesn't support it. I believe 12.2.58-SE2 will support SSH. While on the Cisco downloads page I see the switch also has 15.0.2.SE11 available. The version 12 firmware is Lan Base and v15 is Lan Lite. Which is the best version to install? Currently I am running 12.2(35)SE5, C2960-LANBASE-M.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Best wishes
Michael

I would probably go with the gold star release for that platform, 12.2.55-SE12. As long as it has "k9" in the name it should support SSH.

I would suggest that you go for the image which has "k9"mentioned in it. That image will have ssh support. This is a common rule of thumb.I wouldn't recommend you to go for the Lan lite IOS. Make it a practice of using Lan Base as a minimum since Lan lite only offers a subset of the features of Lan Base.
Hope to help.
