I want to upgrade the IOS image of my cisco WS-C2970G-24-TS-E model switch from c2970-lanbase-mz.122-25.SEB2.bin (current image).
I found a new image-c2970-lanbase-mz.122-44.SE6.bin , but is for C2970G-24-TS model. So my doubt is, whether C2970G-24-TS and C2970G-24-TS-E one and the same or not???

Hi,
Have a look at this link:-
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-2970-series-switches/prod_qas09186a00801b1750.html
The Cisco Catalyst 2970 Series consists of the following two configurations (Table 1):
Table 1. Cisco Catalyst 2970 Series Switch Configurations
Your WS-C2970G-24-TS-E is the part number for a Catalyst 2970G-24TS
So the IOS you could upgrade to is
c2970-lanbase-mz.122-44.SE6.bin
Hope this helps
Regards
Alex

I have the same problem but 3 years later and that page referenced doesn't exist anymore. Is it possible to get the latest IOS version available for the Cisco Catalyst 2970G-24TS Switch?

Also having the same issue. It's pretty ridiculous that a company like Cisco (which makes a cool ~$11 billion in profit) can't just keep a webpage up for it's EoL switches. I get that I'm not gonna get priority support but... I'd sure like to at least update my switch to the latest IOS.
Too much to ask, guys? C'mon.
