3650 Switch Stack IOS Upgrade

Hi,

We're planning on upgrading our 3650 switch stacks and we would like to do some preprep work on the devices.  My question is if I disable the auto boot on the master, will prevent the stack from reboot after the IOS upgrade is completed? If so, when manually rebooting the master will the other stack members reboot as well?  Any direction assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

hi,

1. rebooting the master will reboot the whole stack

2. if you want to prevent rebooting, add the on-reboot (request platform software package install switch all file flash:filename.bin on-reboot new auto-copy verbose) parameter to your request platform command https://community.cisco.com/t5/networking-knowledge-base/cisco-3850-ios-xe-firmware-upgrade/ta-p/4504721

3. if you want to upgrade your stack without booting the whole stack at once read https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-9500-series-switches/214406-in-service-software-upgrade-issu-on-ca.html

EDIT: i am sorry, i read 3850. this probably won't work with 3650.

What is the current firmware of the stack and what is the uptime of the stack?

Take the time to read this:  Cisco 3850: IOS-XE/Firmware Upgrade

this will guide to exact process of upgrade
