Hi,

I have 4 3750 connected in stack.

Switch 01

WS-C3750G-48PS-S

Switch 02

WS-C3750-48PS-S

Switch 03

WS-C3750-48PS-S

Switch 04

WS-C3750-48PS-S

xx01#sh power inline

Module   Available     Used     Remaining
          (Watts)     (Watts)    (Watts)
------   ---------   --------   ---------
1           370.0       29.0       341.0
2             n/a        n/a         n/a
3           370.0       29.4       340.6
4             n/a        n/a         n/a

but when I try to connect a Poe phone in modules 2 or 4 it doesn't work.

Any idea why the watts available says n/a?

xx01# sh env power all

SW  PID                 Serial#     Status           Sys Pwr  PoE Pwr  Watts

--  ------------------  ----------  ---------------  -------  -------  -----

1  Fixed                                            Good

2  Fixed                                            Good

3  Fixed                                            Good

4  Fixed                                            Good

Regards and thanks

Hello Hernan,

it seems that switches 2 and 4 are not PoE capable?? If they are PoE capable, then it could be that the physical part sypplying PoE is faulty. Check using this:

--show switch

--show version (the kind of switches used in slots 2 and 4 would be indicated at the bottom of the output).

Alternatively, if the switches are PoE capable, then try running debug ilpower events when you connect the phone to the switch. That would also give you helpful information as to what is going on.

Please post the output to the command "sh inventory | i 3750".

xxx#sh inventory | i 3750

Hi Heran,

The below output shows that the switch didnt recognize the PoE on switch 2 & 4

xx01#sh power inline

Module   Available     Used     Remaining
          (Watts)     (Watts)    (Watts)
------   ---------   --------   ---------
1           370.0       29.0       341.0
2             n/a        n/a         n/a
3           370.0       29.4       340.6
4             n/a        n/a         n/a

When did you start to see this issue? did you do any changes recently? was this working properly? What type of IP phone you are trying to connect on these switches?

Note: The Cisco Catalyst 3750/3560 PoE switches have 370 W available for Power over Ethernet, which is shared by all 48 ports. The 48 port POE switches have the ability to support all 48 ports at 7.5 watts or 24 ports at 15.4 W simultaneously and any given port could be configured up to maximum of 15.4 watts to support 802.3af classification.

Could you share the below command,

#remote 2 show tech

#remote 4 show tech

#show switch detail

This is looks like there could be PoE issue with those two switches (2 & 4)

Might want to try and reload switches 2 and 4 and see if anything changes.

I have restarted many times and nothing changed

Hi Hernan,

Let me re-iterate my request, can you please post the UN-EDITED output to the commands "sh version" and "sh switch detail"?

Hi Hernan,

Stack connectivity seems to be normal but as requested by Leolaohoo, could you share the show version and show switch detail, please do not edit the output.

1. What type of IP phone you are trying to connect on these switches?

2. Do you see the problem only with IP phone? or do you see any problem with data?

Aru
