Hello;

I accedently deleted the flash directory(nervous fingers, my fault), but the switch is still running.

i copied a new IOS, cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin to the flash an saved the current config.

When i install the new IOS will the switch boot correctly?

Thanks for your help.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Is the same IOS used previously, otherwise I recommend modify the following parameters:

no boot system flash:<old ios>

boot system flash:<new ios>

write memory

You could verify it using: show bootvar  (not all devices support this line>

Also this link could be useful

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11902486/unable-change-boot-file-cisco-3850

Hope it is useful

:-)

Hi Julio;

Thanks, i followed your advice and get:

Switch#show boot
---------------------------
Switch 2
---------------------------
Current Boot Variables:
BOOT variable = flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin;flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin;;

Boot Variables on next reload:
BOOT variable = flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin;flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin;;
Allow Dev Key = yes
Manual Boot = no
Enable Break = no

the IOS at3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin is the new version.

is this ok?

Greetings, Thomas

Hi

Just a question, is it a switch part of a stack or it is a standalone switch?

Standalone so far, but should be part of an stack in near future.
