Hi,
We have a couple C3850 switches hanging in a stack that generate the following error every minute since a month:
%SPI_FC-3-HIGH_WMARK_REACHED: Number of messages in the queue for channel 11 has reached maximum.
-Traceback= 1#7824234920237968b4a0a56d95fed2f2 :5462F000+2783484 :5462F000+17D4E10 :5462F000+17D5004 :5462F000+107D018 :5462F000+107D500 :5462F000+10C1720 :5462F000+10C1C7C :5462F000+10C64B8 :5462F000+4681FAC
When I do the show spi-fc command for channel 11, I see that the queue got stuck at 40001, Direct stays the same and Failed is increasing:
show spi-fc 11
Channel | State | InFC | OutFC | Queued | Direct | InvEAGAIN | Failed | Pending | wmark | tout | EnqueueD
---------+-------+------+-------+--------+----------+-----------+----------+---------+-------------------------
PLATFORM | 1 | 1 | 0 | 40001 | 78419973 | 1 | 28513983 | 40001 | 40000 | 0 | 1
I also noticed that a show version gets stuck after the first page, it seems to time out at the switch info (uptime, model, SN, ...).
For the rest we don't experience other problems. Switches are running firmware 03.07.00E.
Anybody knows why we get this error and how to solve this ? I only found a similar post from a year ago that mentions bug CSCuh78943, but I don't have enough privileges to read this.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue with 03.06.00E, but it's stuck at 41369 while Failed increases.
Did you find a solution?

We have this problem (same error message every minute plus output show version freezing up) with a stack of two WS-C3850-24XS running 03.07.04E. But another such stack with the same software hasn't (yet) issued these error messages. Any advice? Would a reload help? Would an software upgrade to 03.07.05E help.
Also does anyone understand what the message ist saying? What is an SPI-FC Higt Water Mark?
many thanks in advance and kind regards.
John
