GEAR: I have a four-switch Catalyst 3850-48U-L stack running Denali 16.3.6 (CAT3K_CAA-UNIVERSALK9-M) software.
Switch 1 is the current stack master, 2 is current standby .
PROBLEM/SYMPTOMS: The specific "Switch 1" entry is missing from "#show inventory" output, and serial numbers are missing for all the other switches that are listed in inventory output.
Also after issuing "#show version", near the bottom of the sh ver output, the "SW Version" info is missing from the switch list for all the switches in the stack. Serial numbers do show in the show version output, just not the show inventory.
INFO: All these switches were originally stacked and upgraded to Denali during staging - then transported, cabled and powered up at a remote site. They are all the same model, license, code version, etc.
There have not been any other issues or occurrence of this particular issue seen elsewhere in the enterprise since we recently began upgrading code to 16.3.6 this summer (2018).
Anyone else seen such an issue before? We haven't been able to try just doing a reload of the stack yet. It is unknown if the behavior was occurring prior to deployment at the remote site or not (ie during staging).
Here is some sample output from the affected stack:

I have observed stacked devices (2960x, 3850, 3750) mis-reporting their inventory reports, leaving an entire device out of the inventory. Upgrading the IOS and reloading the device resolved this issue and caused the inventory to be complete again.

Thanks for the help, all.
Reloading the stack did the trick.
Now it shows proper inventory output and version output (shows all switches and serial numbers in inventory, and software version for switches listed in sh ver)
Example output after reload:
Switch#show version
Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
