Hi,
We have been running our network on the Small Business Platform for some time now. We have a couple of SG300 and SG500 switches
Recently, we acquired a new 3850 Switch and have installed it as our main distribution switch. Found out that the 3850 does not have RSTP. Instead, it has MST, PVST, and rapid-PVST.
Read somewhere that MST is compatible with RSTP. So,
a. If we enable MST as the protocol for the 3850, and keep RSTP for the Small Units, will it work ? (as simple as that?); or
b. Just configure MST on all Small Business Units since they support the MST protocol.
Thanks!

Hi.
You can use MST instead.
Also you can check the following article that will help you understand the concepts better of keep rstp with rapidpvst.

Thank you for the reply.
Indeed, will be deploying MST across all switches for peace of mind knowing that everything is running on the same protocol.
