Hi,

When doing a major upgrade like this, ISSU will not work.  Actually, ISSU does not work most of the time as expected and can cause more outage than you originally planned for.  Have a maintenance window, load the new IOS, set the boot parameters, save and reboot both chassis. The 4500x take about 5 to 6 minute to fully boot.

Look at the release date for 3.5.3.  It is 09 May 2014.

TAC would not be that stupid to recommend a firmware that is >4 years old.

I'd recommend the latest 3.6.X.

Thanks Leo,

can you guide how to go 3.6.X. without outage from 3.5.4?

thanks a lot

If you plan it well (load the IOS ahead of time and verify it) the entire window should not take more than 30 minutes.

If you have a service contract, you also may want to open a support ticket so, a tac engineer can be online during the process.

Good Luck!
