Can anyone clarify whether this statement found after table 4 of the Cisco 819 4G router data sheet truly means that there will be a power supply to support 48VDC in Q1 of 2013? Here is the statement:
"* Future external reference for 24V, 52V, and 72V DC for railway applications Q1CY2013"
Here is the data sheet source:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps10906/ps380/ps11615/data_sheet_c78-678459.html
I would want to power this router from a -48VDC plant, which is common at remote telecom sites.
TIA,
SK

Hi Steven,
Yes, I have gone through documentation and power supply to support 48VDC in Q1CY2013.
The current C819(H)G 12VDC SKU for vehicle is PWR1-20W-12VDC system option or PWR1-20W-12VDC= spare
Refer:

Aru

Hello
Any news on more DC power options?
It well past Q1 but I can only find 12V and 24V DC on the web.
Edit:
I found this, does that mean I can feed the "24 VDC nominal" with 48VDC?
Router DC Power Adapter
Input Voltage | 12 VDC nominal PWRx-20W-12VDC (10 VDC to 36 VDC operating range)
24 VDC nominal PWRx-20W-24VDC (18 VDC to 75 VDC operating range) |

Yes while 24VDC is nominal, it can be suppplied with any voltage within its operating range. I have one on order and will be doing exactly that with an 819 router, when I receive it in about a month- I will be using 48VDC.
