4948 L3 switch to be used for LAN subnetting

Hi

I am planning to use a L3 switch to segment the office LAN into 4 or more subnets by turning the GE ports into a L3 router interface.Attach is my implementation plan in graphical view.Any one has done similar, will it have any performance issue?Please advise.

Don't see an issue with only 4 subnets you should be fine .

If not enabled by default (and if supported), insure CEF is active. Otherwise, if you have additional ports available on both your 4948 and edge switches, you might consider using etherchannel to reduce the oversubscription ratios on the uplinks.
