I have a couple of upgrade related questions.
1) What is the recommended upgrade path for a 6509/sup720? We currently do not use all of the slots in our 6509 so I was thinking we could downsize to possibly a 6504 or 6506. In terms of upgrading, it appears that the only upgrade from the 6500 platform is the 7000 platform which is overkill for my needs. My initial thoughts are to stay with the 6500 platform and downsize to a low capacity slot chassis.
2) Is it not possible to get a 3750 (WS-C3750-24TS-S) switch anymore? The only 3750 model I can find on the Cisco website is the 3750-X. I have numerous 2950 and 3550 series switches that I need to replace/upgrade and I would like to continue to use the 3750's. I also have a requirement for 12 port switches which I am currently filling with WS-C3560-12PC-S switches. However, I can't even find these on the Cisco website. Do any of the newer access switch models come in 12 port flavors?
Thanks for the help and insight.

I agree, you should stay with the 6500 series since you have been using them and are familiar with
Regarding you second question, you can still order 3750G, 3750-E and also 3750-X
Here are the datasheets:

That's a broad question. Are you talking about the chassis or the supervisor engine. If you want to upgrade your supervisor engine then wait until the new VS-Sup2T will be announced during the Cisco Live 2011 Las Vegas.

6506 is a nice "in between" mix.

You still can. You just need to get the "V2" series. End-of-Sale for the V1 models.

You can still get the 12-port 3560. This is the only 12-port (copper) switch available. If you want SFP then it's the 3750G-12S or the 3560E-12D/DS.

You say you have too many slots with a 6509 but you're looking to upgrade?
As Leo mentioned, the forthcoming new 6500 supervisor will offer, I believe (?), more bandwidth (2x?) to the slot, which I think also requires a -E chassis. Not sure how much increase, if any, it will offer for PPS, although that might also depend on newer line cards.
Depending on your many port number, port bandwidth, and PPS requirements, at the moment the latest 4500 offers 48 Gbps per slot (vs. 40 for 6500) and wirespeed performance (vs. less than wirespeed on 6500). The latest 4948E/F is another wirespeed box. (NB: 4x00 not generally as feature rich as 6500.)
