I have a 6509 that has dual SUP32's Just want to make sure and give a reason(if there is one).
Slot 6 always becomes the active hot on a full reboot. Meaning from no power to the whole switch to powered on.
Also. What is the election process for Supervisors?

If you have 2 sups, one in slot 5 and one in slot 6. when you reboot the switch and SSO in configured correctly. Slot 5 should be the primary and slot 6 stand-by, unless the sup in slot 5 fails.
check with "sh redu" to make sure SSO is configured correctly
slot 5 should be active and slot 6 should be HOT

SSO is configured correctly and they are in HOT Active/Standby states. And if we failover it works fine. Just when the switch is booted up slot 6 becomes active. One of the SUP's was RMA'd recently.

Show redundancy output. You can see slow 6 is active.

It appears that slot 6 has been rebooted first (Uptime in current state = 3 hours, 4 minutes)
and than slot 5 came on line (Uptime in current state = 2 hours, 56 minutes)
Now, what happens if you reboot slot 6 only?

That's the thing. We did a whole switch reload and and slot 6 became the active. That means slot 6 came up before slot 5 right?
