6548 GE gig etherchannel restrictions

When we try to create a LACP etherchannel it won't take more than 2 in a etherchannel , I believe its due to a restriction of the 6548 card them selves , it comes back with an error and if you create port channel 1 , it will take any ports above 2 and stick them in portchannel 1A which the switch creates automatically ,anyone else ever see this with these cards . I believe I read a doc about this restriction that you cannot have more than 1 gig in a etherchannel on these cards. , anyone else run into this and can verify this is a problem with these cards ? supervisor is a 720 with 12.2.18 SXF9 code .
