831 Upgrade Flash Memory

Hi all,

I am trying to find out information on steps to take for upgrading the memory on Cisco 831 routers.

I have removed chips from some of my old and broken 831 that I want to use to upgrade the flash memory on my working 831 routers. When I add the memory it takes me to ROMMON where I tried to download a new image but that doesn't work.

Can any one tell me what steps I need to take to correct this issue?

The New flash memory would not have any IOS and hence it is going to Rommon on boot.

You need to use xmodem to upload the image on the router
