9200L Switch Priority

I have two 9200L switches stacked together. I am trying to config it to have switch 1 as priority 15 but i'm getting error and both switches are remaining at proirity1. I need some help here. Thank you.

 

Here are some details:

 

switch 1 priority 15

Model is C9200L-24T-4G

IOS XE Fuji-16.9.5

Are you in enable mode?

the command should be executed in switch# prompt   (not in config t mode or switch>)

You can only set the priorities of Switch 1 and Switch 2.  
Priorities of switch members that have not yet joined the stack cannot be set.

as suggested make sure you can only have different switch numbers and only you want to master and standby need to higher priority like 15 and 14.

 

follow below guide (cat 9300 still works for Cat 9200 too)

How are you connecting to the stack via console port or remotely, if your via console make sure you are attached to the existing master switch console port?
