Can a 10Gig SFP be used in place of 25gig SFP on a 9407 Supe2?
The old switch's uplink from the core currently is 2 10Gig SFP modules.
The 10Gig SFP is accepted by the switch, the core at the other end is staying 10Gig, so I'm hoping the 25GigE ports will step down to 10Gig..my google-fu is not on target today

Hello @wwwillster07 ,
the C9400X-SUP-2 and C9400X-SUP-2XL provides up to 4 non-blocking 100/40 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks and up to 4 non-blocking 25/10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks. Inserting a 10G SFP in a 25/10 GigabitEthernet port will force that port to operate at 10 Gbps.
Edit: The distribution of SFP+ and QSFP in a standalone and redundant configuration can be observed in this document: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst9400/hardware/sup_install/b-c9400-sup-note.html#Cisco_Concept.dita_d35607e5-dde0-4f60-9b65-1d1e212b9daa
Hope this helps.
