Hey all,
Have a pair of 9606R switches in a virtual-stackwise pair. Did a downgrade from 17.1.1 to 16.12.02 on the pair recently, things are fine operationally. I understand that in a virtual-stackwise pair even if each switch has redundant Supervisor modules that only a single SUP is used. That being said, when you console into the unused SUP on each unit I'm seeing the below message and want to verify this is normal behavior.
***BOOT FAIL***: Rommon invalid or timeout.
The show module and version looks solid and each appear to have the 16.12.02 SW version loaded on them as well as the 17.1.1[FC2] Bootloader firmware. I just want to validate again that this is expected behavior and don't have any nasty surprises waiting down the line.
Thank you!

Hi,
You may want to open a ticket with Cisco and validate the error message since Stackwise virtual specially with quad sup is relatively new on the 9600. Also, I see a bug idea associated with the error message. Now, this is mainly on the 9500 series but it could effect the 9600. Also,
