Accessing Web-Based utility on SRW224G4P Switch.

Hello,

I would call my self a novice in the field of Networking (on a scale of 1 to 10, probably a 2), and I am asking for assistance in rectifying an error.

I have been trying to set up a LAN network for IP Cameras using the SRW224G4P network switch.  When I initially connected my PC to the switch I was able to access the web-based utility using 192.168.1.254 address.  During the switch setup, I inadvertently set the IP Configuration for the switch from static to DHCP setting. Now, I am unable to access the switch through 192.168.1.254 address.  I have tried setting my PC to static IP address (192.168.1.254) hoping I would be able to connect to the switch, unfortunately that has not been successful.

I am looking for your opinion on what I will have to do to access the switch.  Is console port my only option (from similar thread I have read)?  If so, are all console cables the same or do I need a specific console cable for this switch?

Thank for your time, attention and any feed back you can provide.

Hi

you could factory reset the SR through console which will put the 192.168.1.254 address back in place or connect your pc and use ping give pc an ip address in the same range as the DHCP pool and then run a ping scan to see what the device connected is set as with DHCP  , it should respond If you hit the address and then you could http onto it and statically set the Ip again.
