Hi Folks

what is the reason for the below commands?when we need to configure this

arp 172.16.30.30  02af.0a10.0234 ARPA

Hi Ibrahim,

This type of configuration would be used if  the host 172.16.30.30 would not have a mechanism to respond to an ARP request from the router.

In the past, there were certain load balance mechanism that used a multicast mac-address (non-IETF compliant) mapped to an IPv4 address - example stonebeat firewalls, older MS NLB mechanism etc.
