Hello everyone,
Scenario:
Two Cisco ASA 5555X's. Identical hardware. Identical configs.
Last night I swapped the network cabling from one ASA to the other. All IP's/conifg were identical.
Two switches would not change their arp table to accommodate the new ASA. I performed a "clear arp-cache" to the necessary interfaces that were directly connected to the ASA to no avail. I rebooted the same switches - to no avail. The old MAC's still appeared in their arp tables! Had to revert back to the original ASA after having it live on our LAN/WAN for 45 minutes.
If someone understands arp tables very well and would like to comment - please do.
Thank you in advance for your time,
supercell
