Is it possible to have a switch auto assign a VLAN based on a PCs MAC address without using ACS server?
e.g a pool of 20 / 30 MACs and if they plug in, switch recognises them and puts them in VLAN xxx
I have ACS server 5.6 available, but really haven't had time to figure it out yet. I assume this could easily achieve what I'm looking for?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes, using VMPS (Vlan Membership Policy Server). Unfortunately, the server functionality is only provided in switch running CatOS, not IOS, as far as I know.
Best Regards,
Jose.

Hi,
another possible solution is to use Auto Smartport macros with MAC address lists:
Also, as well as advise Jose Jara you can use VMPS... As a server you can use OpenVMPS (http://vmps.sourceforge.net)
