Bandwith limit on specfic services in cisco 2821 router.....

Hi experts,

I'm just seeking some ideas in my setup scenario.

I have a cisco 2821 router where as a cisco 2960 switch with connect on router as a trunk & one user vlan . this is my WAN router all traffic are internal . i have 2MB data connectivity on my  WAN side. i  have to Give a specific Bandwith on my SAP  traffice . like when SAP traffice will come they all time get around 50 % bandwidth of my channel. If SAP resuest are not comming then other traffice will get full bandwith .

A sample config is greatly appreciated!

Something like:

class-map match-all sap

match . . .

policy-map sample

class sap

bandwidth percent 50

int (wan)

service-policy output sample

Place on both sides of your WAN link.

JosephDoherty thanks...... for quick reply. if possbile explain me why service policy apply on both WAN side...... bcz i want to give policy only my outbound traffic... like when SAP traffic goes in will find around 50 % bandwith of my channel...

Place on both sides of your WAN link means i have to put all configuation on my two routers.....

No, you don't have to place this on both sides of the link, i.e. two routers.  However, when you want to guarantee a service level, you often need to consider protecting traffic in both directions.  I.e. from host A to host B and from host B to host A.  That's why I would suggest placing policy on both sides of the link.
