Basic commands on the ME1200 do not work

Greetings, I am trying to configure an ME1200 right out of the box, and some of the most basic commands do not work. For instance when I type in show run I get an error message command not permitted. If I type a question mark I get the following:

This is the XML command set. I do not want to use the ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning) or 920 as a controller. I have other ME1200's in the field acting as standalone switches and they display a normal range of the subset of IOS commands.

Has anyone else encountered this?

So now if you do a 'reboot cold' it comes back with the initial default and not the startup configuration ?

You don't need to erase the default-config, I don't even think you can, since it is 'r' read-only...

you are doing everything by the book...

The only think I can think of is a firmware upgrade (page 1-31 of the attached guide). Also, can you post the output of 'show version', I want to check for bugs, always a possibility...

Yes, I was going to try and download an updated firmware/version. However my smartnet apparently hasnt been associated yet, so I am waiting for that so I can download.

I hope that worked. I could not really find any bugs, there is one where the interfaces are returned to default after a reload, but not the entire configuration:

Only occurs in standalone mode
Observed in all current versions of IOS on this platform.

Are you still having this issue? If not how were you able to fix it? This is my first 1200 I am testing out and I want to configure it to be stand alone with normal IOS commands. Thanks.
