Behavior of STP etherchannel misconfiguration guard

Hi!

We have two Catalyst 6506E switches (Version 12.2(50r)SYS3) in VSS and two Catalyst 3750G ((C3750-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(55)SE5) switches in stack.Betwen them 2 1000Base-T links configured in static etherchannel(channel-group mode on) on both sides.

After configuring one of the ports in channel-group on 3750G side with storm-control configuration command the etherchannel is split up on 3750G side puting configured port in suspended state. On the side of 6506E  the whole channel-group  turned to be blocked by STP and with ports type "P2p Dispute".

As I see it, the first port in bundle used to send BPDU`s to the 6506 turned to be in "suspended" state which can`t send BPUD`s and the second port in bundle start sending BPDU`s instead of it, on the other side 6506 detects BPDU on the second port in ethercannel bundle and STP miscofiguration guard kicked in, blocking whole bundle to prevent posibility of loops.

The question is : Am I right on that?

No. P2P dispute refers to Unidirectional communication.

please check the cable and try using only 1 link at a time to see which link triggers the issue.

Would UDLD help with that?

it will. try and let me know the result.
