Hello,
I want to understand what is now considered best practice for campus networks supporting Cisco voice and video traffic in 2019. Many of the QoS docs on the Cisco site seem out of date - for example Cisco Medianet has been deprecated but there is still quite a lot of content that talks about it.
I am particularly interested in handling traffic from applications such as Cisco Jabber running on Windows 7 and 10. Microsoft do not allow applications to mark traffic but they do support QoS policies being attached to program executables. This would allow signalling to be marked as CS3, video as AF41, voice as EF etc.
The alternative would be to mark at the access switch layer based upon classification by protocol, port range etc.
Are these still both valid approaches or is there something better?
Thanks
