hello.

i'm using 3850 switch for BGP routing.

and OS version is 16.3.5b with IPBASE license.

i had got problem with memory leak bug. so i did OS upgrade this switch.

But after i upgrade to 16.3.10 , BGP route config has gone and can't use BGP anymore.

so i tested other version , i found it is not available from 16.3.6

it was really weird so i tested upgrade license to ipservice. and BGP routing configs came up on next boot.

and i found BGP routing is not include on IPBASE. but i can use BGP routing on IPBASE till 16.3.5b

anyone know about this? i can't find on any version's release notes about this situation.

If you know about license coverage changes by OS version. please tell me about these situation.

Thank you.

Hi,

BGP is advanced feature of Cisco 3850 series and it requires IP Services license. IP Base does not support BGP and not sure how it worked in a version you had.

The IP Base feature set includes advanced quality of service (QoS), rate limiting, access control lists (ACLs), and basic static and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) functions. Dynamic IP routing protocols (Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), BGPv4, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)) are available only on the IP services image.

hello.

thanks for reply

i also found license coverage in https://cfnng.cisco.com/legacy-data  and there's no BGP routing on OS under 16.3.5 too.

but i tested 16.3.2 and 16.3.5b on IPBASE , they can use BGP routing.

i wonder why license coverage differ from 2017 to 2018.

if you don't mind, anything know about this OS coverage changes?

Thank you.
