HI guys.

I tried to upgrade new IOS to the 3650 from 16.3.3 to 16.3.6. All instalation was fine but it created additional file packages.conf.00-

But boot shows:

BOOT variable = flash:packages.conf
Manual Boot = no
Enable Break = no
Boot Mode= DEVICE
iPXE Timeout= 0

how to change to boot from newer version.

Is this true? When cisco bin file has been installed created ....00- just in case of faulty start on new IOS to have possibility to rollback.

indeed, you are right:  the packages.conf.00- files are automatically created in flash to restore a previous image.

Hi,

Normally, It will not create any .00- file.

Share the complete installation logs and command which was you used at installation time. 

Normally, your command will be like this:

software install file flash:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.bin
