BPDU Guard and BPDU Filter cisco 3750

Hello Team,

What is the difference between BPDU guard and BPDU Filter.

I have BPDU Filter and BPDU Guard enabled in two access ports 1/0/8 and 1/0/10.

I am connecting a cross cable from 1/0/8 and 1/0/10 but it doesnt shutdown the port instead it creates a loop.

Does access port send bpdu ?

Little confused in how to use BPDU filter and Guard.

   This is a pretty good doc explaining these features.  A warning out of the doc and why you saw a loop.

Caution Enabling BPDU filtering on an interface is the same as disabling spanning tree on it and can result in spanning-tree loops.
