C3650 free flash: space is not correct

Hi all,

I have a Problem with a C3650 which is running IOS Version 16.3.7.

I tried to free up space on the Flash:, but the amount of free space in Flash: does not increase.

As you see, my Flash: is empty! There are no packages or bin file anymore, but the free space is only ~500MB.

I want to upload the new 16.3.8 Image, but it´s to big.

Is there a command on this Plattform to delete "hiding" files (something like squeeze).

Any ideas?

What is in the flash:/.installer directory?

delete /force /rec flash:/.installer

use the software clean command see if that helps

i would reboot the switch too it may fix it , could be just locked up

you could also format the flash but then you would have to rommon an image back onto it

Did you (attempt) to transfer the file via USB?
This could very well be CSCvf75880.

Hi all,

I tried to upload a new Image even if the Flash size shows not enough space.
Don´t know why, but this works. Seems to be a cosmetic bug. The Flash size represent not the real world.

Finaly I have to wait for a maintenance window for the reload but I will keep you informed about this.

Hi all,

after reload the Switch booted with the new IOS. The Flash: space is now showing correct values.

So that was a cosmetic bug.
