Hi guys,
We're upgrading our Cisco network devices from old software versions to new ones - however this now means we need to convert to Smart licences. On the C3650s, we are moving to 16.9.6, and the device we're testing on has gone into EVALUATION mode. We are working in an air-gapped environment, and as a result there is no access to the internet for the device to liaise with CSSM.
We're aware of the SLR process and we're probably going to end up needing to go through CISCO GLO to help us with SLR but my question is, will running in EVALUATION mode have any effect on the switches when the eval period expires? Can we just run our device in evaluation mode indefinitely, or is it important that we prioritise SLR?
Additionally, is there a command to see how long is left on the evaluation period?
Happy to provide anything you guys need to assist us. Thanks!

Hi,
Usually, when the evil license mode expires, nothing will happen until you reboot the switch and at that time you may lose some of the feature set you are using. So, it is a good idea to use a permanent license.
Also "sh lice" should show you how long you have left on the eval license.
