C3850 switch compatibility sfp

Hi guys.

 I have a Cisco switch, model c3850-48xs-s. Can I put a glc-lh-smd sfp in its 10 gigabit ports for my 1 gigabit fiber links and have the fiber optic link established?

The link will establish as long as you configure the port correctly and the far-end device matches the speed, sometimes you may need to manually set the interface speed to 1 Gbps on the switch, as some SFP+ ports don't auto-negotiate when using 1 Gbps modules
