Re: C4006 Boot problem

Dear all

I am having a problem in my C4006 during the boot.

While Booting the switch, i get in the end the following error: "Your ROMMON version is obsolete"

I tried to download another IOS and boot the switch using the boot tftp command from the rommon mode but still had the same problem,

I put below the whole BOOT log that i am receieving, please advise what to do to boot the Switch successfully as it is urgent.

Hello.

I do not think you have downloaded the correct software. When I look at the release notes of 12.2EW it does not say that your supervisor III is supported:

Try 12.1(11b)EW1. The release notes for this says your SUP (WS-X4014=) is supported:

From what I can tell the image he is using is ok but my guess he is coming from some ancient code version and the rommon needs to be upgraded first before trying to load to newer code . The code looks to be valid under a sup 3 download . Find the newest rommon version for the sup 3 and upgrade that before trying to load the new code. Follow rommon upgrade instructions strictly , if done incorrectly it can render the supervisor inoperable. This looks like it might be the latest version for a sup III.
