C6509 and C3750-X 10G problems.

Hello !

I have a few 6509's and C3750E with multiple 10G transports all talking to each other perfectly.

Now I have some C3750-X and am having troubles getting the 10G to work.

What I have that currently Works:

C6509 - WS-X6704-10GE - 10Gbase-LR   <====>  10Gbase-LR - WS-X6716-10GE - C6509

C6509 - WS-X6704-10GE - 10Gbase-LX4 <====>  10Gbase-LX4 - C3750E

C6509 - WS-X6716-10GE - 10Gbase-LX4 <====> 10Gbase-LX4 - C3750E

C6509 - WS-X6704-10GE - 10Gbase-SR  <====> 10Gbase-SR - C3750G-16TD

C6509 - WS-X6704-10GE - 10Gbase-SR  <====>  SFP-10GBase-SR - C3750X-48T

C3750X-48T - SFP-10GBase-LRM  <====>  SFP-10GBase-LRM - C3750X-48T

But not matter what combination I try , I can not get a C6509 or C3750E transport to talk to a SFP-10GBase-LRM !!!

None of the following combinations work....

C6509 - WS-X6716-10GE - 10Gbase-LX4 <==/==> SFP-10GBase-LRM - C3750X-48T

C3750E - 10Gbase-LX4 <==/==> SFP-10GBase-LRM - C3750X-48T

I Know it is not distance , as I have tried them right next to eachother  , and other the 10G-LX4's work over the same link ~ 180m. MultiMode

Please tell me what I am doing wrong , or what 3750-X 10G transports I need to buy to get them to talk to my C6509's

(or do I need to but different transports for my C6509 ??? )

Hi,

On the 3750x, what version of IOS are you running.  To support LRM optics you need 15.0(2)SE

see table-4 in this link:

C3750X-48T - SFP-10GBase-LRM <====> SFP-10GBase-LRM - C2960S-24TD-L

c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3                                                     c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE

                                                                    And this is working...

But I am bringing all my 3750's up to 15.0.2 - but can not do my 6509's as fast....

This document mentions:-  (so why no talk ??)

10GBASE-LRM SFP+ transceiver module for MMF and SMF, 1310-nm wavelength, LC duplex connector

10GBASE-LX4 X2 transceiver module for MMF, 1310-nm wavelength, SC duplex connector

there are X2-10G-LRM for my 16 port 6509 10G , but no mention of them in Xenpac
