C9200-24P cleaning flash

SergeyKunitsa1
Level 1
Level 1

We have stack with two C9200-24P switches.

Flash of first switch displays

1956839424 bytes total (845697024 bytes free)

Flash of second switch:

1957167104 bytes total (1358430208 bytes free)

I compare content of two flashes - it`s identical (+/- several Mb).

We try to clean this flash, but "squeeze flash" command is unreachable, "install remove inactive" does not give any result/

So, can anybody help us to understand - why we have so few free space on first flash, and how we can clean this flash?

Hello Sergey,

You're hitting CSCwa71156.

1. Reload the active member switch, so that Standby takes the active role.

2. Perform the following Commands, when Switch 2 is now the active member.

#conf t

#iox

#end

#guestshell enable

#guestshell destroy

#conf t

#no iox

#end

- Now try the upgrade again, it should work. If the reload isn’t possible, then please raise case with Cisco TAC, to access the Shell, and remove the iox files.

I already did this - the content of both flashes is identical.

To check the folder`s content I used dir /recursive flash:

Not sure never seen this before...next, i am guessing is to reboot the stack if the device has long uptime. (not sure if this fix the issue)

I am sure some files are hidden somewhere.,...

and already rebooted without any results

uptime is 1 week, 2 days, 11 hours, 19 minutes

maybe I have on flash big file(s) (such as IOS image) which marked as deleted, but not deleted physically?

How I can clear this files?

In previous families was a command "squeeze flash" but in 9200 it unavailable

Hello Sergey,

You're hitting CSCwa71156.

1. Reload the active member switch, so that Standby takes the active role.

2. Perform the following Commands, when Switch 2 is now the active member.

#conf t

#iox

#end

#guestshell enable

#guestshell destroy

#conf t

#no iox

#end

- Now try the upgrade again, it should work. If the reload isn’t possible, then please raise case with Cisco TAC, to access the Shell, and remove the iox files.
