I wanted to check how much power our new Catalyst 9407 is consuming.
The switch is configured and running.
There is only one Access Point connected. No other clients.
#sh power Power Fan States Supply Model No Type Capacity Status 1 2 ------ -------------------- ---- -------- ------------ ----------- PS1 C9400-PWR-3200AC ac 3200 W active good good PS2 C9400-PWR-3200AC ac n.a. faulty good good PS3 C9400-PWR-3200AC ac n.a. faulty good good PS4 C9400-PWR-3200AC ac n.a. faulty good good PS Current Configuration Mode : Combined PS Current Operating State : Combined Power supplies currently active : 1 Power supplies currently available : 1 Power Summary Maximum (in Watts) Used Available ------------- ------ --------- System Power 1535 1535 Inline Power 25 1665 ------------- ------ --------- Total 1560 3200
But I think the "used System Power" should not be 1535 Watt for an idle switch.
Actually, I measured the power consumption is about 400 Watt.
Am I interpreting this wrong?
Can anybody reproduce this?
Is this a bug? (Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 17.03.03)
Thanks

If you are inspected Physically all good, try to reseat the PSU and see if that fix the issue
then it is a bug in the new code, Raise TAC case.

The issue existed in 16.09.04, too.
I rebooted and updated today.
I will check if completely disconnecting from power (or how do I reset the PSU?) will help.

I think those are the correct numbers. here is an output from a 9410 with one port connected to it
Power Summary Maximum
(in Watts) Used Available
------------- ------ ---------
System Power 1870 1870
Inline Power 0 4530
------------- ------ ---------
Total 1870 6400

My older Catalysts (e.g. Catalyst 4507R+E) show a lower "used System Power" than the "Maximum Used Available".
