Hi All

I'm really tight for time on this as I have to supply a BOM to a client within the hour . Do you know if I can create a 3750 switch stack with 2 x 3750-S or E 10/100/1000's and 2 x 3750-S or E 10GB switches, where the 10gb switches sit at the top and bottom of the stack and connect to the 6509 Dist layer, leaving the 10/100/1000's daisy chained between the two 10gb with stackwise ?

Here are the BOM's I'm looking at but I need to be sure there won't be any incompatibilty. If there is, I will just get all 10gb switches in the stack.

10/100/1000

And 10gb

S3750EVK9T-12250SECAT 3750E IOS UNIVERSAL WITH WEB BASE DEV MGR
CVR-X2-SFPCisco TwinGig Converter Module
GLC-SX-MMMulti Mode SFP

E

WS-C3750E-48PD-ECatalyst 3750E 48 10/100/1000 PoE+2*10GE(X2),750W,IPS s/w
CAB-STACK-50CMCisco StackWise 50CM Stacking Cable
CAB-ACUAC Power Cord (UK), C13, BS 1363, 2.5m
CVR-X2-SFP-2Two (2) Cisco TwinGig Converter Modules
S3750EVK9T-12250SECAT 3750E IOS UNIVERSAL WITH WEB BASE DEV MGR
CVR-X2-SFPCisco TwinGig Converter Module
GLC-SX-MMMulti Mode SFP

The solution will be either the E or S, not a combination of both.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Q. Can I run Cisco Catalyst 3750 switches with Cisco Catalyst 3750-E switches in the same stack?
A. Yes, the two series are compatible. When the Cisco Catalyst 3750-E Series detects a non-E-Series Cisco Catalyst 3750, it will negotiate down from StackWise Plus mode to StackWise mode. Thus, the entire stack will now run in the original StackWise mode.

Sure.  Just follow the rule-of-thumb:

1.  Entire stack must run the same IOS version; and

2.  Entire stack must run the same Feature Set (example:  IP Base).
