Hello folks,

I'm not 100% sure if I understand the following output right, so: Will I be able to activate ipservice license on this switch stack? Does having an ipservice license shown in Index 5 mean that it's available for activation?

TLDR:

Index: 5 Feature: ipservices Version: 1.0
License Type: PermanentRightToUse
License State: Inactive
Period used: 0 minute 0 second
License Priority: None
License Count: Non-Counted
Store Index: 1
Store Name:

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can either activate the evaluation license (valid for 90 days), or purchase a permanent license.

Check the link below:

Hello Georg,

thank you very much for your feedback. If i get this right, "Active" rather means "available" than "activated". So we're going to purchase ipservice licenses - which brings me to another point of confusion:

If I issue a "show license udi" to get SN/UDI for license purchase, than the output suggests that I'm dealing with two different models (48P-S and 48P-L):

Device# PID SN UDI
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
*1 WS-C3750X-48P-S FDOXXXXXXXX WS-C3750X-48P-S:XXXXXXXX
2 WS-C3750X-48P-L FDOXXXXXXXX WS-C3750X-48P-L:FDOXXXXXXXX

Googling for difference between -S and -L suggests that the only difference is the license: "The difference is the software image licensed.  The -L signifies LAN Base and the -S signifies IP Base." (https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/lan-switching-and-routing/difference-between-cisco-c3750x-48p-l-and-c3750x-48p-s/m-p/2428104/highlight/true#M287501) However, the output of "show license" on both switches is the same:

Index 1 Feature: ipservices
Period left: 8 weeks 4 days
        License Type: Evaluation
License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA not accepted
        License Priority: None
        License Count: Non-Counted

Index 2 Feature: ipbase
        Period left: Life time
        License Type: Permanent
        License State: Active, In Use
        License Priority: Medium
        License Count: Non-Counted

Index 3 Feature: lanbase
Period left: 0 minute 0 second

What am I missunderstanding here?
