Cannot delete the data.bin file that resides in the Crashinfo directory Catalyst 4500

We are getting rid of some C4500's and I am clearing all configurations from the switch, but I cannot figure out how to delete the DATA and the DATA.BIN files out of the Crashinfo directory.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, please download the screenshot, then open it.

Thank you all for the help. Since we are running fairly old Supervisor modules, the recommended commands will not work, as the files are Read Only. I opened a case with Cisco TAC and the had the solution:

SW1#erase /all non-default

Take in to account that this command should erase everything foreign to the switch including the iOS code and configurations.

Hi
can you not just delete the whole crashfile from flash where its stored ?
delete flash:crash....

No sir. Here are all the files available from all directories that will allow the delete command:

C45-305-02-A#delete ?
  /force          Force delete
  /recursive      Recursive delete
  bootflash:      File to be deleted
  cat4000_flash:  File to be deleted
  nvram:          File to be deleted
  slot0:          File to be deleted

Here are the files within each one of those directories

C45-305-02-A#dir bootflash:?
bootflash:cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-54.SG1.bin

C45-305-02-A#dir cat4000_flash:?
cat4000_flash:vlan.dat

C45-305-02-A#dir nvram:
Directory of nvram:/

  512  -rw-        8287                    <no date>  startup-config
  513  ----        3570                    <no date>  private-config
  514  -rw-        8287                    <no date>  underlying-config
    1  ----           0                    <no date>  rf_cold_starts
    2  ----          90                    <no date>  persistent-data
    3  -rw-           0                    <no date>  ifIndex-table

C45-305-02-A#dir slot0:?
slot0:cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG1.bin
slot0:cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-54.SG1.bin-Sup2

I have no idea where this crashinfo:/ directory is stored and this seems pretty crazy that it cannot be deleted, as the Data.Bin file actually displays IP addresses.

Directory of crashinfo:/

    1  -r--       11113                    <no date>  data
    2  -r--       28488                    <no date>  data.bin

Thanks again for any and all help!

Thanks for posting the fix back to the forum ,wasn't aware of that command and I'm sure others will find it useful

Did you have any luck removing them. I have a 4948 with the same issue.
