Hello there,

I am trying to upgrade 3850 from 16.09.06 to  16.12.07 

below the error

SW-S1#request platform software package install switch all file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.16.12.07.SPA.bin new auto-copy

FAILED: Cannot determine list of packages for installation.

Post the complete output to the following command:  dir flash:cat3k_caa*.bin

in addition to what Leo asked

You have not mentioned is this single switch or stack ?

can you post below information :

1. show switch

2. show version

3. dir flash: 

we have seen some instances like this - reboot the switch and try again should be ok (option)
