Cannot use console port on Catalyst 4948-10GE

Hi all,

I needed to upload new code to my catalyst 4948-10GE using X-modem and changed confreg from ROMMON as I usually do.

Now the speed is set to 56700 bauds, I can see the initial boot on my screen using putty or hyperterm but I can't type anything.

This never happened before. Is there anything I can do here?

At such high speeds, it can be a cable problem or output level too low from the DTE u are using.

Thanks for the advice ! I changed to a USB to serial converter hoping for the output level to be higher and worked.

Never knew the DTE output level was something to consider in these scenarios.
