Cat3560's SNMP IpRouteTable is empty?

Hi,

Env: Configured Cat3560's L3 port and vlan port, enable OSPF routing, SNMP server, etc. The routing info can be shown by CLI show ip route. But, using SNMP MIB broswer to read IpRouteTable(OID.1.3.6.1.2.1.4.21.1, MIB-II, RFC1213), nothing returned, seems IpRouteTable is empty.

I would like to know:

1. Cat3560 works as L3 switch, if it support SNMP IpRouteTable, RFC1213?

2. Where is the Routing table of SNMP, is there specific routing table OID?

3. All the L3 switch has this behavior, or just Cat3560 works like this?

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

Take a look at the IP-FORWARD-MIB (1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24). This should give you what you need.

Regards

Hi, Steve,

I have tried IP-FORWARD-MIB(1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24), nothing retured, no value there. It seems Cat3560 doesn't implement this mib.

Hi Tony,

As per the Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X Switch Software Configuration Guide, Release 12.2(55)SE Supported MIBs, the IP-FORWARDING-MIB is supported, but only when running the IP services feature set.

..

  • CISCO-IETF-IP-FORWARDING-MIB (Only with the IP services feature set)

..

As you're using the Universal image the question is which license you're using, but this was not shown in the truncated output of the show version you supplied previously.

Regards

Hi, Steve,

You can see more image info below,  if it's license issue?

Thanks for your promoted answer.

Hi Tony,

Yes this is a license issue.

There are three licenses available for the Catalyst 3560: LAN base, IP base and IP Services with each of these licenses providing additional functionality.

The switch you have is licensed for IP Base, which can be seen in the show version output with the line that states License level: ipbase. Unfortunately, as per my previous response the MIB you are trying to use is only supported when running the IP Services license.

Regards

Hi, Steve,

Okay.

But it's strange, on the IPBase licensed switch, OSPF can be enabled, and ip route table can be showed by command line, just in the SNMP IpRouteTable is empty.

Thanks for your answer.

Tony
