To start with I have created two other Topics regarding the two swtiches I picked up from the city dump:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3768052
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3758924
Today, I recived the console and after a quick google search (YouTube) I found out how to access the switch which isn't booting.
If there is any other commands I need to run, to show any or more detailed, errors. I'll need a link or told what to do.
Below I am showing HyperTerminal after turning on the switch and having a little play. Am I right about the battery?
I'll also ask, what is the cheapest and easy way to link both my 2948 switchers togather?

Hi Michael,
I have gone through the error message and understood that the switch 2948G stuck in Rommon.
You can encounter a problem with the software that you currently have in Flash and can be unable to fully boot the switch. Or the switch can end up in ROMmon for some reason.
Before you proceed to the recovery procedure, make sure that you do not have any valid files in the bootflash:. Issue the dir bootflash: command from the rommon> mode in order to determine if there are any files in the bootflash:. If a valid file exists, issue the boot bootflash: filename command in order to attempt to bring up the switch.

This Catalyst 2948G switch doesnt support stacking and gigastack
2960 is not stackable.
2950 can use Gigastack GBIC to do stacking.
3750 can use special stacking cable to do stacking.

Okay, a few more questions.

Hi Michael,
Based on the error message from the switch, we can see that there is NVRAM is corrupted. As you referred earlier,
this will cause NVRAM data corruptio, including the boot variables. Switch is likely to have issues booting. You can try to replace the battery and check check the performance.
I couldnt get the detail of the Battery, but you can try with the one which you can see on the board.
Once you bring up the switch, check the config register and it should be set to 0x2102. Please verify the recovery procedure which i shared you previously and which helps to recover from rommon mode
If changing the battery fail still, the final option would be replace the switch.
Note: This switch 2948G doesnt support gigastack and it is supported by 2950G/2900xl/3500xl switches.
