I was comparing the following models and obviously X series are better than S series, but what confusing me the pricing between the two models:
WS-2960X-48FPD-L------List Price $7,995.00
WS-2960S-48FPD-L------List Price $8,995.00
X series support FlexStack Plus Technology with 8 members in the stack with 80Gb Bandwidth while S series only supports FlexStack with 4 members in the stack with 40Gb Bandwidth. X series has dual core and S series has single core.
Not sure why S series would be more expensive than X series.
Any idea?
Thanks,

'S' series is an older series, and Cisco are pricing it to discourage people from buying the older technology.
Often the new model gets introduced at the price of the existing model, and then the existing model is increased in price.
Then those that really really want the old model can still buy it, and new buyers are automatically steered towards the new technologies with their wallets.
