Catalyst 4500-E, Sup 8-E y WS-X4506-GB-T

Que tal, tengo un Catalyst 4503-E con  Sup8 E. Y no reconoció la tarjeta WS-X4506-GB-T. No obstante en el "datasheet" de la SUP 8E dice:

It is not compatible with the classic Cisco Catalyst 4500 chassis. When you deploy the Supervisor Engine 8-E with classic line cards, all of the new features except the 24- and 48-Gbps per-slot switching capacity are inherited"

Me puede alguien comentar si el termino "Full backward compatibility" no es del todo cierto?

What IOS are you running?

Randomly, I checked the Release Notes for 3.8.0E and is WS-X4506-GB-T listed as being supported (Table 1).

I also found it in previus releases, for examle:

(3.6.XE)....But that I found, is that the IOS XE support it, The Chassis (4503-E) also...But the SUP 8E...doesn´t. I ám right?

Correct, it should be supported in Sup7 but not in Sup8.

Hola,

Contesté a tu pregunta en inglés; la supervisora 8 no se muestra como soportada ya que existen algunas tarjetas que no son compatibles con la nueva arquitectura. También la tarjeta WS-X4506-GB-T está marcada como End-Of-Life y End-Of-Support a partir del 30 de noviembre del 2016; es decir que después de esa fecha ya no tendrán ningún tipo de soporte.

Mil gracias Omar...descuida...si vi la liga y creo que es el documento mas explicito. Y mi duda se origina de que en el Datasheet menciona completa compatibilidad con modulos de 6Gbps...Y pues no es del todo asi.
