Catalyst 4948 IOS Upgrade Problems.

I am attempting to update my Cisco IOS version from 12.2 to 15.02 on my 4948 and its giving me serious issues.

I have the TFTP server setup properly with port 69 open and the service has started, but everytime I try to do it, it times out. This is the output I receive from Putty.

Switch#copy tftp flash
Address or name of remote host [192.168.1.151]?
Source filename [cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.150-2.SG11.bin]?
Destination filename [flash]?
Accessing tftp://192.168.1.151/cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.150-2.SG11.bin...
%Error opening tftp://192.168.1.151/cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.150-2.SG11.bin (Timed out)

Can anyone please help? The IOS version currently on the device is:

Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4000 L3 Switch Software (cat4000-I5K91S-M), Version 12.2(25)EWA7, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

1) can you ping the tftp server from the switch 

2) is the TFTP server running 

3) is there a firewall on the TFTP server blocking access

Hey John,

Thanks for the reply, yes all of those things are good. I actually ended up figuring it out. It was a simple syntax problem on the commands I was putting in. The switch has now been upgraded to IOS 15.
