Catalyst 6500 VSS System Power Down ONE Chassis

Hi folks,

a simple question; i habve a Catalyst 6500 VSS System consisting of two Chassis; each Chassis has

only one Supervisor !

Chassis 1 Supervisor is Hot Standby

Chassis 2 Supervisor is Active

What happens, if Chassis 2 is powered down ? Will Supervisor in Cbassis 1 become active without reloading the switch ?

How long is the traffic disruption time for hosts connected to Chassis 1 ?

How long is the traffic disruption time for hosts connected to Chassis 1 ?

If you power down chassis-2 (primary switch), it will take about 3 to 5 seconds before chassis-1 start forwarding traffic.  This should be pretty close to seamless for end users.
