I have a number of Catalyst 65xx switches running CATOS. The default logging level (5) generates the following types of messages when a connected host powers up and down:
2007 Feb 19 13:42:36 AKST -09:00 %ETHC-5-PORTFROMSTP:Port 3/45 left bridge port 3/45
2007 Feb 19 13:42:58 AKST -09:00 %ETHC-5-PORTTOSTP:Port 3/45 joined bridge port 3/45
I don't want to see these messages for the majority of the ports, and as such, could get rid of them by issuing the following command:
xxx> (enable) set logging level ethc 4
However, this appears to act globally. There are a few ports on each switch that not only would I not mind receiving the status messages on, but actually really quite need to. The IOS images for these same switches provides for the option to squelch these types of messages on a port-by-port basis. How do I do this in CATOS?
Thanks,
Shane

Thanks for the reply...though on first glance I'm not seeing the answer?
