I am having a mismatch issue between GigabitEthernet & TenGigabitEthernet SFP ports between two Catalyst 9300s. Both are using the same SFP, however switch 1 is configured for GigabitEthernet 1/1/4 and switch 2 is configured for TenGigabitEthernet 1/1/1. If one port is changed to match the other (either both set to Gi or to Te), the link fails to establish. They only communicate when set differently. Has anyone else seen this issue?
SW1:
interface GigabitEthernet1/1/4
description to Server Room - TAHITI
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,20,30
switchport mode trunk
SW2:
interface TenGigabitEthernet1/1/1
description To FIJI
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,20,30
switchport mode trunk

How can both be set to Ten ?
the only possibility here is they communicate using 1Giga or less.

Yes, there is a "logical" bug in the switch where the Tengigabitethernet configuration is not honoured by the GigabitEthernet port when a 1 Gbps optic is used (or vice versa).
Workaround is to manually copy the port config and paste it to the corresponding port.

This behavior may occur due to switch firmware quirks, incompatible SFPs
