Hello for everybody.

I have cat 9300l switch with 16.12.02 ios version.

Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
* 1 53 C9300L-48P-4G 16.12.02 CAT9K_IOSXE INSTALL

When I decided to check the status of the ports after upgrading version from 16.11 to 16.12 i saw

Spb-9300#sh int status | i connected
Ap1/0/1 connected 1 a-full a-1000 App-hosting port
Spb-9300#sh run int Ap1/0/1
Building configuration...

Current configuration : 41 bytes
!
interface AppGigabitEthernet1/0/1
end

What is purpose of this Ap1/0/1 port?

Hi,

The 9300 series switches can also be used as a wireless controller to mange APs.

It is for SD-Access.
I wouldn't bother with it.

Yes, i found only this explanation for the presence of this logical port.

About docker from first link.

I dont remember exactly where, but i saw guides how you can run docker container on modern routers ISR 4000 with

ios-xe, and install full-fledged linux there.

if you are not using it, should you disable it?

Its up to you, we mostly disable the port.
